Intern Spotlight: Jacob Caralle
As the summer begins to wind down, we sadly also have to say farewell to our summer intern, Jacob Caralle, to finish his final semester at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania. For the past couple months, Jacob has been working with our Geospatial and Software Solutions Team as an Inside Sales Account Associate. Before his departure, Jacob shared some insights into his role at Print-O-Stat and advice for future interns:

What was your role for the summer internship?
Primarily my focus was managing existing client portfolios for Autodesk and Bluebeam Revu software technologies. To effectively manage the accounts, I would compile client information and conduct consult discussions regarding their options for renewals, functionality assistance, and expressing features that made services valuable.

What was the favorite part of the internship?
Client interaction was the most enjoyable portion of the internship. After over three weeks of training, applying what I learned to real-time discussions was a great feeling. Besides the personal achievement of making that ‘first sale’, seeing the positive impact your service has on your clients confirms that you are not just closing a deal, you are opening relationship; doing well by doing good.

What advice you would give students thinking about interning?
My advice would be to leverage your network, use University resources to find an opportunity, and 100% go through with it. Internships are a great tool to discover applicable academic concepts in real business dealings and provides insight on the industry to help you decide whether you like it or not. You will learn a lot about yourself, the real world, and will be five steps ahead students that did not intern.

What advice I would give to those interested in a Business or Sales career?
First, perfect your communication skills. Second, be persistent. Regardless of industry, you will be turned down by prospects more times than not; creating plans to improve takes persistence and will aid you through tough times that arise. Third, keep yourself motivated. Come in everyday with a purpose and remind yourself of your goals and remind yourself that you are working to better than you were yesterday.

Jacob plans to graduate from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania this December with a major in Business Administration & Management and a minor in Professional Sales. We’d like to thank Jacob for his dedication, focus and enthusiasm throughout his time with us and we wish him the best of luck!
