On Saturday, January 22nd, 2022, we celebrate Paul Grubbs’ 15-year career with Print-O-Stat! Paul is currently the Director of Systems Support in our IT Department based in our Corporate York, PA office. As a valuable part of our organization's journey and success, we are greatly appreciative of his consistent dedication to the job at hand. Paul is an essential part of Print-O-Stat and has contributed his passion for always doing what’s right. Please help us congratulate Paul on his professional work milestone and wish him a happy 15th work anniversary!
We reached out to Paul to commemorate his work anniversary and reflect on his years of service with Print-O-Stat. Here’s what he said:
What is the favorite part of your job?
"When we’re able to make someone’s work experience better and more productive. Also, when we’re able to fix someone’s problem and we leave our customer (our co-workers) with a smile on their face."
What would you say is your most memorable moment or memory at Print-O-Stat?
"Actually, several of those. When we’ve relocated a store, in the IT realm, there’s a lot of parts that have to come together at the right time. It’s was especially memorable and satisfying when, to paraphrase Hannibal Smith on the A-team, ‘the plan came together’ and the new York office opened on time in 2019 with everything working.’"
In looking back, have you seen many changes in the field over the years?
"Oh, we surely have. We’ve gone in 15 years from each branch being its own little network that didn’t talk to much anyone else and required IT to make ‘house calls’ for most everything to one coordinated network, connected by VPNs, with critical resources operating in the cloud, and IT able to solve most issues remotely. It’s what has let IT maintain its current level of staffing despite increasing technological complexity."
How do you prefer to start your day?
"How do I LIKE to start my day…..a mug of coffee, a bagel, and reading the newspaper. However, since you’re referring to the workday, it’s more like finding that all the backups ran successfully, all the equipment is operating properly, and there aren’t any mission-critical issues. That lets me get started on things we want to do rather than reacting to crises."
